Zed and Helix are the two most widely used editors written in Rust. Zed is a GUI editor that renders on the GPU through its own GPUI framework, with built-in collaboration and AI features, and it uses tree-sitter and language servers for code intelligence. Helix is a modal terminal editor inspired by Kakoune: you select first and then act, and it ships with tree-sitter and LSP support configured out of the box, so it needs no plugins to be useful.

Lapce is another GUI editor with a native Rust UI and built-in language server support. In the terminal, Fresh aims to feel familiar to users of GUI editors and supports TypeScript plugins, ox is a lightweight editor, and ki-editor is a multi-cursor modal editor. Ferrite is a Markdown editor built with egui.

kibi is a small editor that fits in about a thousand lines of code, in the spirit of kilo, which makes it a good way to learn how terminal editors handle raw mode, rendering and input. If you mainly want Rust language support in your existing editor, see IDEs and editor plugins instead.
